A clean bill of health!

Today looks promising. I went to a dermatologist to get a mole check. She checked me out. All over.

These are age spots.

These are maturity spots.

And of course the sun adds wrinkles and premature aging.

These little white scars on your arms...sun damage.

Make sure you wear sunblock and a hat in this climate. The southern California climate is not a normal one. People are outside 2-3 hours a day - just wearing sunglasses and a visor - if that.

You're fine, JCK!

A clean bill of health! No problems. Great news! No worries on skin cancer. On aging, well... that might be another story.

Here's to 5 more chocolates left in my 1 lb box from yesterday! If I'm going to age rapidly, I might as well enjoy my chocolates rapidly, too.

It is depressing to go to the doctor when you are over 40, even if you are healthy. I still remember my optometrist explaining to me that my vision is getting worse because, essentially, the insides of my eyeballs are sagging. Thanks a lot.

Great news! I guess I should go one of these days, too. At least it won't be so traumatic to run into my dermatologist in the concession stand.

When I went to the doctor for my physical they asked me if I was still having periods. I will admit to sounding a bit snarky when I said yes.
And go for those chocolates! I have a button somewhere that says, "Eat right, exercise, die anyway." So why deprive yourself entirely?

I'm starting to think that waterskiing at the Colorado River every summer sans sunscreen (which, btw, we didn't even have back in the day) was not the best choice!

It's scary to think of all the damage we did in the sun.

My kids, on the other hand, think sunscreen all summer. They are actually worried if they go without for even a short time.

I don't know if the ANXIETY was what I was shooting for, but what a difference a generation can make.

I did a lot of sunbathing as a teenager back in the days when people didn't really do suncream. it's done my skin no favours at all.

Age is not kind. But yes, if chocolate is your thing then go for it. Mine is cheese and red wine.

Life is for living and a little of what you like is good for the soul.

Hooray! I wouldn't have any chocolates left.

Congratulations on the clean bill of health!

I have sun damage, too (most of us do, I think). It's just no fun to be at the stage of life when that sort of thing catches up to you.

Suburban Correspondent's comment left me wondering if we're going to have to start wearing eyeball bras.

God news that it completely natural...we're all getting older.

Yeah and ugh...I always forget to apply sunscreen to myself after I slather down the boys.

I dread the mole check, but feel it is so essential. I hate being told to stay out of the sun because I LOVE THE SUN. I have to watch it, though.

KEEP BELIEVING

Excellent editing on your part; putting the chocolate at the end. Otherwise I would have missed the whole clean bill of health part.

*BIG EXHALE*

What a relief. Isn't it amazing how much one worries as they age?

Now about this chocolate, wanna share?

Glad you're well. I need to go for the complete "mole patrol" to examine every dark spot.

In the meantime, I'm just stupid enough to keep tanning. I look better with color.
