Random thoughts ...
- When buying a shredder, don't go cheap- this includes middle end (still cheap!). Go high end. Especially when in the middle of Office clean-up and you can only shred 8 papers at a time. And you have BAGS of stuff to shred with vital personal info on it.
- When you've had a history of ups and downs with an entity and several negotiations, don't assume there won't be another roadblock. Even bigger. Hence ...making you feel like a whipping boy.
- Smoke is usually not good. See #1.
- Opportunities open up when you least expect them.
- God always has a plan. It is often not your plan.
- Nothing beats circling the wagons with your friends.
- Nothing beats having those kind of friends.
- When your child asks you to come play, do it. All those things you "have to get done" can usually wait. At least for an hour.
- When you can't get to your friends' blogs, because you are crazed with projects and life happens...your friends will understand and know that you will come back when you can.

See those really cute kids?
ReplyDeleteLiving shredders.
Make it a fun game. "See how small you can rip the paper!"
Bonding!
Or just hit office max.
I think you can actually take your paper somewhere to be shredded for a small fee. When cleaning out my mom's house after her death there was way too much paper to shred at home.
ReplyDeleteGREAT list of reminders - LIFE IS SHORT!!
ReplyDeleteTake care - Kellan
PS - We are at one week countdown - WOO HOO!

ReplyDeleteI totally rocked #8 today. (Not always the case, but today was a good day for play at our house.)
ReplyDeleteAnd #s 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 couldn't have crossed my line of sight on a better day. Hang in there, whatever is going on.
And keep the fire extinguisher handy!
Suggestion for cheap but efficient shredding -
ReplyDeleteGet a hamster!
Obviously there is the small side effect of the pong!
Enjoy JCK time

Double amen to #8.
ReplyDeleteShredding is only fun for the first 10 minutes. Make it a game and get the kids involved. A Relay! Run around the tree and back, shed 5 pages, drop a clothespin into a bottle, etc.
ReplyDeleteall so good. we all have to remember #9 -- we've all been there.
ReplyDeleteFriends are good. Mac is evil.
ReplyDeleteThat's my wisdom for the day.

ReplyDeleteHey don't forget - it's five o clock somewhere. Your list was good - OH. so true.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should have read this before I bought my shredder today.
ReplyDelete#8 is so true.

Is the shredding part of the great office remodel? How's it going?
ReplyDeleteI finally finished an 8-year backlog of shredding about a month ago (after shredding a little every day for 3 years).
ReplyDeleteI believe it was John Lennon who said, "We plan. God laughs."
Go enjoy - we'll wait patiently for your return.
